Emailed Reports
Market News provides two ways to receive information by email:
Customized Reports
Reports created through the Portal (Custom Reports by Commodity, by Report Type, or Regular Custom Reports) may be scheduled for future delivery by email in various formats. Scheduled reports are available to registered users only. Registration is available (free) at the 'Log In | Register' option on the top right side of the Specialty Crops Market News home page.
When the user logs in and runs a report the user will see an option to 'Schedule Report through Email Daily'
When that option is selected the user can choose to receive the report in Excel, text or XML format. Reports will be delivered at 4:00 AM EST/EDT Tuesday through Saturday for information for the previous day. To remove the selection from the daily email list the user will need to log in to the Portal and from the 'My Account' tab, the user will see the reports the user has selected. Using the 'edit' button next to 'My Scheduled Reports' the user can uncheck the report subscribed to.
Under 'My Scheduled Reports' there is also a link to 'Schedule a Daily Report for All Commodities and Locations ' for either terminal markets, shipping point or movement.
Standard Reports
Standard Text and PDF reports - existing (static) reports - are available on a subscription basis (free) through USDA Economics, Statistics and Market Information System (ESMIS) which is a collaborative project between Albert R. Mann Library at Cornell University and several agencies of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The link to the subscription page is found under 'Tools' from the Fruit and Vegetable Market News home page.
The user will need to register on the ESMIS site first. Note that this is different from the registration option on the Portal. Once logged in, the user can select "Market News" and "Fruits and Vegetables" to make a selection from the Fruit and Vegetable report list.
